Cherry and Chocolate Tiffin Bars

Friday, 30 December 2011

So I was chatting to a friend this morning to see if she wanted to hang out and she suggested making some chocolate tiffin bars and as soon as she said it I thought 'I can put cherries in them and post it on my blog!' Yay!! So here is it....so easy to make and really scrummy!

INGREDIENTS

300g crushed digestive biscuits
230g of butter
4 tbsp golden syrup
4 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp icing sugar
400g chocolate

Here's where you can be a little creative....we also added the following:

Glace cherries of course!!
Sultana's
Malteasers
Coco Pops

METHOD

1. Put greaseproof paper on the bottom of your chosen tin/dish
2. Crush the digestive biscuits, chop up the cherries and also also cut the Malteasers in half
3. Melt the butter in a saucepan and transfer to a large bowl once melted.
4. In the same bowl add the golden syrup, cocoa powder, icing sugar and mix together.
5. Then add the crushed digestive biscuits and all your extra fun ingredients and mix well.
6. Transfer the mixture into your chosen tin and press the mixture down firmly.
7. Melt the chocolate and pour over the tiffin mixture to form a chocolate top layer
8. Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to set, slice up and enjoy!
