Christmas is definitely all around us! And we all know what that means...shopping! If you are stuck for what to buy for a fashion conscious makeup loving chick then this Front Cover makeup kit could be the one!
Front Cover True Colours Kit is a this magazine style box kit with everything a girl would need to create a very beautiful and sophisticated look. The contains...

5 Lip glosses
2 Nail polishes
1 Retractable lip brush
1 Double ended mascara for upper and lower lashes

As soon as I opened the box the shimmering purple nail polish called out at me! I remember thinking it looks just like Fantasy Fire! On closer inspection is it slighter different, it has a gorgeous pinky purple and blue micoglitters on a clear base.

Revlon Enamoured - Celebrating 80 Years of Revlon
Thursday, 6 December 2012
Last weekend whilst I was in London I popped by Revlon's 'EnamouRED' exhibition in the underground depths of the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.
The exhibition was a celebration of Revlon's 80th Anniversary highlighting its history and featuring their ad campaigns over the decades whilst also commissioning some interesting art.
It was really fun walking around and seeing their vintage lipstick cases, old nail polish bottle displays, magazine adverts and they even had TV screens showing old school TV ads from the 60s/70s. I really couldn't help but admire the glamorous beauty of Revlon's marketing.
| This huge bottle is made of 2500 regular bottles of Revlon Polish |
A couple weeks before the exhibition Revlon asked people on Twitter to post a photo of their lips on Instagram so I posted one of me wearing their Lip Butter in Peach Parfait and when I went to the event I noticed they had turned the photo's in lots of collages! And guess what...mine was there too!! Mine lips are the ones on the top right hand side...I couldn't believe it when I saw my pouty chops up there! I actually wanted to jump with joy but I had to contain myself in front of all the cool people lol
I have a couple more posts on my London adventure coming up, I hope you will enjoy them!

Review: myface Slinky Liquid Liners in Paint It Black (Matte) & Gilt-y
Wednesday, 5 December 2012
I'm always on the look out for a good matte black liquid liner so when I came across myface Cosmetics 40% off Black Friday sale I had a look around their website and noticed they had one.
If you don't recognise the name myface...they are the brand behind the Blingtone eyeshadows and nail polishes in Boots. As I was browsing around their website I noticed they had 15 different shades of liquid liner..yes 15! Thats a pretty impressive range of colours! I ended up going for the matte black shade I had my eye on called Paint it Black and also a metalic gold shade called Gilt-y. I chose the gold because I had seen a photo on Pinterest and had been admiring it for quite a while so I thought I would use the gold to try and recreate it...you can see the photo I'm talking about here.
The next morning I was pretty surprised to see that my liners had arrived already...within 24 hours of placing my order! I was pretty excited so I whipped them out of their packaging immediately and got swatching. My first impression was really good...the matte black swatch looked great on my hand. Very strong black colour with the super matte finish I wanted. The gold also looked good but slightly sheerer than I was expecting. The black takes about 20 seconds to dry and the gold takes much longer to set at around 1 min.
After wearing the black shade all week I began to get more and more disappointed with the liner.
After wearing the black shade all week I began to get more and more disappointed with the liner.
The tip of the brush on both shades are quite blunt. They aren't feathered into a fine pointed tip so its difficult to get a very thin line and create the small precise flick I wanted.
But this is what disappointed me the most...Paint it Black is turns into a crazy hot mess as soon as it touches any water! I was watching a Channel 4 documentary (The Curious Case of the Clarke Brothers) which brought tears to my eyes and when I wiped away my tears I noticed that the liner had run so badly it was aweful! I even noticed that I would smudge quite alot even when my eyes watered slightly. I'm not sure if this is the same for the gold because I haven't worn it for a whole day yet. If you want a matte black for a night out or some event where you will be indoors mainly then this is great but if you know its going to rain or you are going to watch a sad movie...do not wear this!! It's such a shame because I really love the intensity of the black and the finish but my search for the perfect matte black liquid liner continues...
myface eyeliners are priced at £10.99 each and are available from their website here and I think they are also available in Boots stores.
Have you managed to find a good matte black liquid liner? I'd love to know your suggestions!

Rimmel's Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in Shade 107 Review
Monday, 3 December 2012
After swatching the new Kate Moss matte lipsticks in my local Boots I really loved shade 107, its such a gorgeous rich deep red berry colour..so perfect for winter!
Rimmel are marketing this as a Matte lipstick but actually its not a true matte. It does have a slight sheen finish but I really like the formula because it doesn't dry my lips out like some true matte lipsticks can. The lipstick glides on smoothly and feels really comfortable...my lips feel moisturised but at the same time the colour is set enough so that I don't feel like I need to keep checking if the colour has rubbed off on my teeth! It lasts around 3-4 hours on me but even longer when I do the old powder layering trick.
This lippie is such good value at just £5.49 and Rimmel's Facebook shop (here) are also offering it for £4.39 including delivery.

So a few months back Dhara said she wanted to send me a few things and I was so excited I wanted to return the kind gesture and send her some things too so we spent a few months planning, dropping hints and getting so excited about it all then once the packages had shipped there were all kinds of delays but finally I received her box and I was soo happy with it!! Here are the goodies....
Thank you so much Dhara for these gorgeous gifts! I absolutely love them! As soon as the box arrived I ripped everything open and started swatching and trying everything lol! Totally in love with the Colorbar Jaded iGlide and the Lakme kohl liner. I will posting swatches and reviews of these soon!

I 'met' Dhara earlier this year and as soon as we started chatting that was it...it was like I had found a long lost sister! We became friends instantly and even though we haven't met in person she has become such a great friend to me. She's totally addicted to make-up and is literally an expert when it comes to Mac products. I'm so happy that Dhara finally decided to start her own blog recently, sharing her knowledge and enviable make-up collection (just check out this post on all her green eyeliners alone!) with us all. But her real passion is nail polish! She is a polish fiend! What she doesn't know about polish, isn't worth knowing...ok maybe that's a slight exaggeration lol but she knows her stuff! You might remember the gorgeous Revlon polish she reviewed for my blog recently.

NOTD: Lilacs and Polka's
Tuesday, 15 May 2012
Hiya Beauts! Dotted nail art seems to be all the rage these days...everywhere I look I see funky new designs. Naively I tried doing dots just with a normal nail polish brush and of course it was a mess lol so couple months ago I bought a dotting tool from eBay. It was just lying in my drawer neglected until a few weeks ago when I decided to dig it out and give it a go!
I used ELF in Lilac with dots using a random white and George Asda purple in Hoax 49.
A little side note, I just saw this BEAUTIFUL nail polish on BritishBeautyBlogger and I think I am actually in love. It's my birthday next month so if anyone fancies getting me this, I will love you forever!! lol

Nail Art Party!!
Sunday, 13 May 2012
Last weekend a bunch of us blogger friends decided to have a virtual nail art party. We all had a go at water marbling and shared our pics with eachother.
Having watched a new vids on marbling a while ago...I thought this cant be too difficult. Oh how wrong I was!! Lemme tell you this...this water marbling shiz is MESSY! I wasn't at home and for some reason the internet connection was really bad so I couldn't even watch any YouTube vids beforehand to refresh my memory so I totally forgot to use celotape! After a couple of attempts I had sticky films of multicoloured polish all over my fingers, it was a bit of a nightmare but I'm glad I gave it a ago!
It was soo fun doing it 'with' everyone else though and seeing everyone's pics afterwards! :-)
Mine was pretty tragic so I just took a pic of my best nail. First I painted my nails in Innocent by ELF then I used Barry M in Teal 334 and George (Asda) in 49 Hoax for the marbling
I still haven't mastered it yet but I definitely wana give it another go!
