NOTD: Lilacs and Polka's
Tuesday, 15 May 2012
Hiya Beauts! Dotted nail art seems to be all the rage these days...everywhere I look I see funky new designs. Naively I tried doing dots just with a normal nail polish brush and of course it was a mess lol so couple months ago I bought a dotting tool from eBay. It was just lying in my drawer neglected until a few weeks ago when I decided to dig it out and give it a go!
I used ELF in Lilac with dots using a random white and George Asda purple in Hoax 49.
A little side note, I just saw this BEAUTIFUL nail polish on BritishBeautyBlogger and I think I am actually in love. It's my birthday next month so if anyone fancies getting me this, I will love you forever!! lol

Nail Art Party!!
Sunday, 13 May 2012
Last weekend a bunch of us blogger friends decided to have a virtual nail art party. We all had a go at water marbling and shared our pics with eachother.
Having watched a new vids on marbling a while ago...I thought this cant be too difficult. Oh how wrong I was!! Lemme tell you this...this water marbling shiz is MESSY! I wasn't at home and for some reason the internet connection was really bad so I couldn't even watch any YouTube vids beforehand to refresh my memory so I totally forgot to use celotape! After a couple of attempts I had sticky films of multicoloured polish all over my fingers, it was a bit of a nightmare but I'm glad I gave it a ago!
It was soo fun doing it 'with' everyone else though and seeing everyone's pics afterwards! :-)
Mine was pretty tragic so I just took a pic of my best nail. First I painted my nails in Innocent by ELF then I used Barry M in Teal 334 and George (Asda) in 49 Hoax for the marbling
I still haven't mastered it yet but I definitely wana give it another go!

You just apply the polish, while its is wet you hover the magnet over the nail using the plastic ridge to help you, wait about 10 seconds et voila! Funky union jacks and stripes await you! Its like magic right in front of you eyes!!
These nail polishes are £4.99 from Superdrug and Boots stores.

Beachy Dreamy Mani by Kiko
Thursday, 19 April 2012

Hiya! Ever since I saw this photo (above) on Pinterest I instantly fell in love with it...It just reminds me of summertime and partying on the beaches of Mykonos! So I set my sights on tracking down the exact nail polish colour. Its quite a bright ocean greeny/blue almost neon and as we are currently going through a pastels phase it was a bit tricky but I think I found a close match by Kiko No. 389 Mint Milk. I'm loving Kiko nail polishes atm...I got my sister to pick up three from their store in Stratford Westfields which I will show you in the next couple weeks.
If you haven't heard of Kiko before, they are an Italian brand selling cosmetics and skincare at high street/'drugstore' prices.
The colour in my photo's have come our a little more pastely than its true colour which is much brighter and slighty more on the green side and although the name of the colour is Mint Milk its definitely brighter than your standard mint creme. The formula and brush can be a touch streaky but if you apply it carefully you should have a nice finish. The great thing about these polishes is they have great staying power! I put two coats and it lasted me a good 5 days. I was also inspired by today's Nail Art & Things post and accented one of my nails with a black nail striping foil I bought from eBay a while back but never got round to using.
So what do you think? If you know of any other polishes like the pic above please let me know! And of you have tried any of Kiko's other makeup or skincare I'd love to know how you got on. I'm pretty intrigued as they're products look great on the website.
These Kiko polishes are £3.90 for 11ml and can be purchased from their stores in Stratford Westfields and Shepherds Bush Westfields, London or on KikoCosmetics.com.
